Mr. [Our Attorney],

I have received requests for updates from Mrs. Heller and her brother and there seems to be some confusion or anger on their end because I have not responded back quickly enough. In one of the last emails I received from Mrs. Heller, she was angry that I was not following her course for my investigation, but rather following a course I find appropriate.

The last email made it clear that she was taking legal action.

At this point, our office will be communicating directly with you as far as updates. At this moment, I do not have an update to provide other than we take these investigations seriously.

I will provide an update/status when I have further. Please pass this along to Mrs. Heller.

Sincerely,

Jo Catania, MPA, D-ABMDI

Ok, I say try it. I don't know why you wouldn't reach out to her. I do think this will not be done until she hears what she wants to hear. I am frustrated that she has ignored my phone calls and requests to meet for so long and is now frustrated that we won't make the decision she wants on a whim.

I returned a call to Martha Redmond at Redmond FH to discuss a completely different case. While on the phone, Martha asked me about the Dennis Wolf case. She wanted to know what we had down as the date and time that Redmond FH picked up the decedent from WMed. I informed Martha that I couldn't talk about this case. Martha then stated that she received a call from the mother asking for any documents that the funeral home had, which Martha said she provided. The documents Martha provided didn't have the information that the mother was looking for, which is why she asked about the date and time. Again, I let Martha know that I couldn't discuss the case. Martha understood, and that was the end of the conversation.

Hello investigator. I'm Paul Heller, one who has always been willing to advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves. I'm also the brother of Theresa Heller. Uncle to Dennis Charles Wolf.

I sat right here 9 days ago and watched my grieving sister send you an email asking for a status update on her son's case. You have yet to extend her the extreme minimum courtesy of a reply. I expect the same level of service, too; it's apparently the way your outfit performs its functions generally. So I'll be brief:

I just got back to my desk and have seen the emails to you regarding my contact information and your apparent inability to contact me. Please let me assure you that in my role as the Compliance Officer for our organization, I take all complaints I may receive seriously, and always have worked to resolve problems with our constituents whenever possible.

As of right now, I would convey to you that I have never received any emails from you, nor do I even know what the issue at hand is. Therefore I would respectfully ask that before a formal complaint is sent to the Attorney General, I would like to at least have full knowledge of whatever the issue is, and that we are given a chance to respond. Of course, it is your right to file a complaint if you desire to do so, but we certainly would like to be afforded the opportunity to hear your issue, investigate, and respond appropriately.

I tend to have a lot of meetings and my schedule varies greatly, so it would be best to contact me in one of the following ways:

1.  You could email me at this email address your formal complaint in writing, and then give me a chance to investigate the issue and respond OR

2.  You can call our office and set up a scheduled phone call with me so that we can talk and discuss the issue. This can be done by calling Ms. Sue Jeska, the administrative coordinator that handles my schedule, to set up a mutually agreeable time to talk. Her phone number is 269-337-4504.

I would welcome the chance to hear what your complaint or issue may be. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

I usually need 7 to 14 working days to conduct such an inquiry due to schedules and availability of personnel I may have to interact with. That being said, I do plan to address the issues as expediently as possible.

Therefore, I respectfully ask that you allow me the time indicated so that I can do this work to the best of my ability. I would also appreciate being the point person for any emails or correspondence you may wish to convey to us rather than sending them to other email addresses.
